From Bariloche to Ushuaia in an unforgettable journey

A journey into the mysteries of the Argentinean Patagonia reaching diverse landscapes, astounding and beautiful at the same time, next to the Andes. Grandes lagos, old forests, crystal clear rivers, little towns, huge glaciers, wide inns and the southest city in the word, Ushuaia.
An itinerary with plenty to travel and know, a great adventure to enjoy.

Program

First day, San Carlos de Bariloche

Reception at the San Carlos de Bariloche Airport. Access to the city. Lodging in hotel, hostel or cabins. Light Lunch. Tour circuits by the town and surroundings. Welcome dinner

Second day, Nahuel Huapi National Park

After breakfast we will start our tour to the Mount Tronador Tronador, watching one of the most beautiful landscapes of all the region where we will find natural forests, lakes, rivers, crystal clear lakes and springs surrounding the montains. We will go back to the city of Bariloche. Return to the lodging point

Third day, San Carlos de Bariloche - Lake Futalaufquen

Early in the morning we will start our journey to the Los Alerces National Park, pasando por el lago Puelo, the river Azul and the Lake Rivadavia. Then we continue walking through milenary forest that cover the Andes and from where, the larch is the main tree of the area. Lodging at the inn.

 

Fourth day, Esquel and El Maiten

We will use this day to know the surrounding of Los Alerces National Park. Optional: Viaje en "La Trochita"; (Old Patagonian Express), the old steam train which travelled; for many decades this region, being a fundamental piece of history Return to the inn.

Fifth day, Lake Futalaufquen - Lake La Plata

We will travel to a place located between the andes and the Patagonian plateau; in our journey heading south. We will pass by some spreaded towns in the vast Patagonia, reaching the lakes Fontana and La Plata, a paradise for trout fishers and nature lovers. Lodging at the inn

Sixth day, Lake La Plata - Los Antiguos

After enjoying the view from the beginning of the day, next to the lake, we will start the journey that will take us to the province of Santa Cruz. We will walk through another sector of the Patagonian plateau until reaching the Lake Buenos Aires, biggest of them all in the Andinian South. Once we arrive at Los Antiguos we will check-in an inn and spend the rest of the day visiting the surroundings where we will find fields with different kinds of fruits such as cherries, rasperries, strawberries, peaches, apples and nuts).

Seventh day, Los Antiguos - Lago Posadas

Following an ancient footprint next to the border with Chile and sorting the river's channel, we will head to the Roballos Pass, communication point with Chile, surrounded by a colorful forest. Furthermore we will get to the union of the lakes Posadas and Pueyrredon, a beautiful site where we will find our lodging in the inn. After that we will get to the Mount San Lorenzo (3706 meters above sea level).

Eighth day, Lake Posadas - Cave of Hands

We will head East to get to the River's Canyon entering the Patagonian plateau. Inside this canyon, there's a place called "Cueva de las Manos", (Cave of Hands) where 10000 year old ancient paintings can be found To achieve this we will do a 3 kilometer trekking next to the river.
Before sunset we will go to a ranch which will offer us lodging

Ninth day, Cave of Hands - Lake Belgrano

This is a day where we will travel long distances, reaching for moments to the central part where the steppe rules. This arid region which contains several ranchs dedicated to ovine cattle. Near the end of day we will find ourselves in the Lake Belgrano and more of turquoise waters inmersed in a landscape with the Mount San Lorenzo, located in the north. Then we will lodge in a ranch near the entry of the Perito Moreno National Park.

Tenth day, Lake Belgrano - El Chalten

Once again we will defy the vast Patagonian Plateau heading South, passing next to the great Lake Cardiel and reaching Lake Viedma. Changing our course to the West we will enter El Chalten, a small town located at the front of the Torre and Fitz Roy Hills and by the shores of the River; o Las Vueltas which flows from the beautiful Desert Lake (Lago del Desierto). Lodging at the inn.

Eleventh day, El Chalten

Free day to travel the region. Gathering in the night for dinner. Lodging.

Twelfth day, El Chalten - Calafate

Re taking our way we will get to the end of the River La Leona. Our itinerary follows until Lake Argentino. We will cross the river Santa Cruz y continue next to the Lake we will enter El Calafate. Lodging at hotel, inn or ranch.

Thirteenth day, Glaciers

Free day to travel to the region of the glaciers. Night reunion for dinner. Lodging.

Fourteenth day, El Calafate - Cabo Vírgenes

After breakfast we will cross the steppe heading East and having as our final destination the Vírgenes Cape, located between the Argentinean Sea and the Magellan Strait. At this place there are a colony of penguins and it's a natural reserve. We can see also the famous light that helps the navigation of ships in the zone of the Straits . We will lodge in a ranch, where we will have dinner.

Fifteenth day, Cape Vírgenes - Lake Fagnano

We will start our itinerary to the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego. At mid morning we will do customs frontier at Mount Aymond and there; we will make a mini tour by Chilean lands, crossing the Magellan Strait by boat and entering this way the island. Lunch. We will go back to San Sebastián and by the famous Rout 3 we will enter the City of Rio Grande. Continuing a bit further into the south we will reach the Lake Fagnano and the little town of Tolhuin. There we will lodge in a traditinal hostel to enjoy the landscape and taste an exquisit dinner.

Sixteenth day, Lake Fagnano - Ushuaia

In the morning of our last day, we will begin a mini tour to Ushuaia, where we will enjoy its beautiful landscapes. Later we will end entering the Tierra del Fuego National Park, located at the north of the Bay Lapataia and at the end of the Route 3 (extreme South of the Panamerican Route). Return to the city. Lodging and dinner.
