South Patagonia - a way to the AdventureA trip towards the borders of the Argentine and Chilean Patagonia arriving at the very end of the Andes. A route between great glaciers, typical ranchs, gorgeous lakes, rivers, ancient forests and small towns scattered in the vast Patagonia, deep fiords and the world's southest city, Ushuaia. An itinerary with plenty to know, a great adventure to enjoy. ProgramDay 1, The CalafateReception at the Airport of the Calafate, vehicle delivery. Access to
the city. Check-in the selected lodging (hotel, inn, cabins or ranch).
City tour and surroundings. Weldome dinner. Day 2, El CalafateFree day to cross glaciers and to make diverse excursions (navigation, trekking on the glacier, etc). Return to the lodging point. Day 3, El Calafate - Ea. Rupai PachaWe begin a trip to the Patagonian steppe, entering the great zones of old ranchs. Getting closer to the Cancha Carrera pass we will go to the Rupai Pacha Ranch, where we will make contact with the customs of the region. We will lodge in the same one, where we will be able to taste an exquisit Patagonian supper. Day 4, Ea. Rupai Pacha - Towers del Payne National ParkIn the first hours of the morning we will enter Chile. After passing
the small town of Cerro Castillo, head of the great Chilean austral ranchs,
we will change our course heading to the Torres del Payne National Park,
where we will arrive at the first hours of the afternoon. The rest of
the day we will use it to cross the zone and to see among others the Cascade
of the Payne and its Great and Small Jumps, the landscapes of the Towers
and the spectacular Cuernos del Payne and many other landscapes. Day 5, Torres del Payne National Park- Punta ArenasLeaving the zone del Payne, we will take the South course, passing once again through Cerro Castillo. From there we will have to continue between the South Chilean Andes South and the North Argentine Pampas to arrive at Villa Tehuelches, a small cattle establishment. After this we will turn aside ourselves to the South to give go to the Verde River, an alternative way that leads to Punta Arenas, located between the Island Riesco, the Sines Skyring and Otway. At the end of the day we will finally enter the city of Punta Arenas. Check-in the selected lodging. Day 6, Punta Arenas - Rio GrandeIn the morning we will embark in a ferry to cross the Magellan Strait and enter the Great Island of Tierra del Fuego. The journey will take approximately 2 hours and and we will berth in the port of Bahia Chilota. Minutes later we will arrive at Porvenir, the most important Chilean town in this island, continuing soon towards Bahia Inutil and the Passage of San Sebastian, by where we will re enter Argentina and in a few kilometres we will get to the Argentine Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Retaking the South couse we will cross several cattle ranchs and a very rich region in oil extractions, arriving this way at the City of Rio Grande.
Day 7, Rio Grande - Yehuin LakeIn the beginning of the day we will re enter Argentina by the Radman passage. From there we will take the road that will lead us to the Chepelmut and Yehuin lakes, later the Fagnano with its little town Tolhuin and finally the Escondido, where we will lodge at the Petrel Inn.
