Expedition and Adventure in the Andes

This is an ideal tour for those who enjoy combining the excitement of knowing new and astounding landscapes between the Andes and the Patagonia, the adrenalin of challenge and adventure. A proposal that alternates offroad, rafting, cavalcade, trekking, camping, and hotels.
The tours take place between the provinces of Mendoza and Neuquen

Program

Day One. San Rafael - Canyon of Atuel

Reception at the city of San Rafael from 2 pm. Transfer to the Valle Grande hotel, Canyon of Atuel. Welcome dinner.

Day Two. Canyon of Atuel - Dunes of Nihuil - Cayon of Atuel

Tour to the Canyon of Atuel to the "El Nihuil" dam and from there GPS navigation by the Dunes of Nihuil, returning to Valle Grande. Valle Grande Hotel.

Day Three. Canyon of Atuel - Lagoon Diamante - El Sosneado

Tour to the Agua del Toro dock and from there ascense to teh Lagoon Diamante, located on the footsteps of the Volcano Maipú. Then we return to the Pampa de los Avestruces, and then we descend into the South to El Sosneado. El Sosneado Inn.

Day Four. El Sosneado - Volcano Overo - Las Leñas

Tour to the births of the river Atuel, located next to the Overo volcano.
Pass by the Hotel Termas El Sosneado ruins, lagoon of the same name and by the Quebrada de las Lagrimas (airplane of the Uruguayans). Return by the same way to the R40 and from there to Las Leñas. Hotel Pissis.

Day Five. Las Leñas - Valle Hermoso - Las Leñas

Tour to a beautiful valley where you can find a lagoon and the births of the River Grande with an outstanding landscape. You can do trekking and cavalcade. Return to Las Leñas.

Day Six. Las Leñas - La Payunia

Tour to Malargüe and from that city we part to the volcanic region of La Payunia. Passing by the volcano Payun Matru and heading south, we arrive at the river Seco, from where we will descent into the River Grande, while we will have the chance to observe the different geological structures which formed the Earth, an unique landscape. From there we will get to that place where we will camp at night in the middle of the desert.

Day Seven. La Payunia - Andacollo

Tour by the River Barrancas, passing by the lagoon Cari Lauquen and reaching its births, in the Andes. From there and with a sudden change of course, we will head to the Cajón de los Nevados and the Varvarco lagoons, making an interesting off road path into the mountains. We will enter the Cajon del Neuquen and by its waters we will head South, passing by little towns until we get Andacollo. Sequoia Inn.

Day Eight. Andacollo - Caviahue

Walking through the Neuquinian Andes, full of amazing landscapes, we will travel to Caviahue, passing by new little towns and by the Spring of Agrio, a 70 mts. high water jump, located at the entrance of one of the oldest araucaria park of the world. Puente del Agrio Refuge.

Day Nine. Caviahue - Villa Pehuenia

Tour by Copahue and the thermal springs. Pass by the jumps of the Caviahue stream and descense to the Cajón de Hualcupen, entergin new and amazing landscapes. Then heading West we will arrive once again at the middle of the Andes, in the area known as Pino Hachado, another kingdom of Araucarias. Descending once again next by the big mountains, we will enter the valley of the river Litran and then end in the Lake Aluminé. "Lago Escondido" Hostel.

Day Ten. Villa Pehuenia - Aluminé

We have arrived at a region of lakes and we'll go in search of the most spectacular ones: Moquehue, Ñorquinco and Giles among others, reaching at the end of the day the town of Aluminé. "Pehuenia" Hotel.

Day Eleven. Aluminé - San Martín de los Andes

Continuing our journey heading South and by the river Aluminé, we will go to Junín de los Andes and from there we will enter the Lanín National Park.. After noon we will begin the last phase of this great adventure reaching the city of San Martín de los Andes. "La Cheminee" Hostel.
