Expedition and Adventure in the Andes 1
This is an ideal tour for those who enjoy combining the excitement of
knowing new and astounding landscapes between the Andes and the Patagonia,
the adrenalin of challenge and adventure. A proposal that alternates offroad,
rafting, cavalcade, trekking, camping, and hotels.
The tours take place between the provinces of Mendoza and Neuquen.
Program
Day One. San Rafael - El Sosneado
Reception at the City of San Rafael from . We leave the "El Sosneado"
inn crossing the Atuel Canyon to the El Nihuil. dam. We will finish by
route till El Sosneado. Lodging at the "El Sosneado" inn. Welcome
dinner.
Day Two. El Sosneado - Volcán Overo
We enter the Andes next to the Atuel river and we have as our final destination
the Overo volcano, opposite Chile. We will pass by the "El Sosneado"
lagoon and the ruins and therms of the hotel. Lunch. Passed noon we will
ride horses that will take us to the volcano, where our first camping
will take place. Dinner.
Day Three. Volcán Overo - El Sosneado
Trekking to the Overo and sulfur abandoned mine. Lunch. Then, we'll return
to El Sosneado and then to the boats to complete our descense (rafting)
by the waters of the Atuel Superior river. Return to the El Sosneado inn.
Lodging and dinner.
Day Four. El Sosneado - Bardas Blancas
Early in the morning we will begin our journey to the La Niña
Encantada (the Haunted Child) lagoon, Los Molles and Pozo de las Animas
(the Pit of the Souls), following then to the Valle de Las Leñas
and Valle Hermoso. Lunch. Before sunset we continue to Malargüe and
finally to Bardas Blancas, from where we will accede into the Caverna
de las Brujas (the Cave of the Witches). Camping and dinner.
Day Five. Bardas Blancas - Río Barrancas
Heading south by route 40 we will go next to the river Grande, crossing
it by La Pasarela into the volcanic zone of La Payunia. Lunch. This way
we will reach the province of Neuquen and re enter once more into the
Andes. Camping and dinner.
Day Six. Río Barrancas - Domuyo
Access to the Varvarco lagoon and to the Domuyo volcano system, where
we will enjoy a natural thermal bath at the spring of Villa Aguas Calientes.
Lunch. Going on with our journey, we will pass by several little towns
of Alto Río Neuquen along our way to Caviahue. Camping and dinner.
Day Seven. Domuyo - Caviahue
Agrio Refuge. We will visit the Spring of the Agrio (Bitter one spring)
with its gigantic basalt walls. Lunch. Tours to Copahue and Caviahue.
Lodging at the inn. Farewell Dinner.
Day Eight. Caviahue
Transfer to the City of Neuquen (optional San Martín de los Andes).
End of our services.

2 nights of lodging at the El Sosneado inn, 4 nights of camping, 1 night
lodging at the "Refugio del Agrio" inn(with comforts).

Departure cordination of trekking, rafting at the river Atuel Superior,
horseriding to the births of the Atuel river (not the service loaned by
the specialized operators).
Transfers in Land Rover Defender and Toyota Hilux communicated with VHF
equipment.
